We’re pleased to announce that <b>January</b> was another strong month for KDP Select! More authors are enrolling books in the program and more Amazon customers are reading indie books.

Borrowing activity in the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library for KDP Select books increased from 295,000 times in December to 437,000 times in January. January was a particularly strong seasonal month with many new devices being turned on post-holiday and many Kindle Fire customers enjoying their free trial of Prime. With the $700,000 January fund authors enrolled in KDP Select have earned <b>$1.60 per borrow</b>.

• Support for subscript and superscript.
• Support for PNG, GIF and BMP formats as cover images.
• Support for select special characters in book and TOC title.
• Support for filtering of invalid special characters.
• Check for Adobe InDesign running during (un)installation.
• Check for admin privileges during (un)installation on Windows.
• Improved warning and error messages.
• Changed display of kindlegen output.

•         It is a unique translation
•         It contains annotations (unique, hand-crafted additional content including study guides, literary critiques, detailed biographies, or detailed historical context)
•         It includes 10 or more unique illustrations

If your submission conforms to one of the criteria listed above, please return to the title field and insert one of the following identifiers in your title:

Please note that we have updated KDP terms to account for situations where books using the 35% royalty option are available for free on other websites.  If we match free promotions elsewhere, your royalty during that promotion will be zero.  This change will take effect February 21, 2011.
 
For your convenience, any zero price matched sales will appear as separate line items in both “Prior Months’ Royalties” and “Prior Six Weeks’ Royalties” reports.
