Cover uploading without title and author...help please!

Hi everyone!

I've got my cover image and put the wording on. It just won't upload with the title and author. When it's all finished, it looks exactly how i want it, but not when it's uploaded on here.

I inserted the image onto word (I have windows 7 if that makes any difference). I then used text wrapping and the option to create the text over the picture. This bit works.

I expect I am saving it incorrectly though. I looked on here and elsewhere for instructions on this and I cannot find how. I know it's not allowed to be a word doc, so i tried it as a webpage, filtered and not, xml etc. I'm totally stuck and have never done this before, obviously!

Anyone who can help, I would be so grateful!

Many thanks,

Emma

Went to a book signing....Author was a B****!!

I once went to a book signing and it was advertised with an 'after signing lunch'. While this author was and is very famous...name withheld...she was eloquent and professional as we stood in line buying her latest. It was the luncheon that she suddenly changed. She refused to answer any questions regarding how she got started. One person asked her how to get an agent and she just smiled and said; "My secret." She rolled her eyes at every question and finally excused herself, with her PR person by her side, leaving everyone to eat the "WE PAID FOR THE LUNCH" sitting with blank stares.
The one thing I learned was that she had apparently forgotten her humble beginnings. Yes, it took her years to 'make it' but there is no excuse for rudeness.
Then, I read her very first book. I went through it with a fine tooth comb and although NOW it is in its fifth printing, the time lines are all off. Her book is not plausible but it sells. In the beginning, it didn't. Her name sells now and I suppose she could write dribble and people would buy it.
How did she do it? Her fifth book WAS a good one. She finally wrote a good book and when one hits the top ten, others follow. The question I have is, if you look at your first book years down the road, could you admit the mistakes inside? Did you learn from them?
I know this sounds like a jealous rant but it isn't. It is an observation in climbing the ladder to stardom. I applaud this author because she didn't quit when her first few flopped. As for an agent? One probably found her. She has since honed her writing to a fine art and she is very wealthy and famous.
If you want to know how 'the top authors' got there...look at their books and see how their style changed over the years. Like a fine wine, with age, they just got better!
Now, excuse me while I sip my sweet tea in my plastic cup and peck at the keys...

are not reported to my account, simply do not appear. The more I climb in the ranking of sales, less sales is in my account of the author.
On the other hand I have not authorized anyone to sell my book.

I don't think the reviewer was being mean - I think he/'she just really thought my story sucked. The reviewer has left glowing reviews on several of my other books.

So we really need to take it all with a grain of salt, and understand that all our books will not appeal to all readers, nor to all our fans.

Plus, I was getting wayyyyyyyyyyy too cocky!! :p
