Stunned By a Review

This is vain I know, but this is my author family here, or you know, complete strangers, but I share this because 1. You know how I feel right now, and 2. This is the result of a free promotion. Note: I don't know this guy and it was posted on Amazon UK.

"I read quite a few Kindle novels, but rarely review them. I am a fussy so and so, you see, and sometimes the quality is at best disappointing. Yet I keep at it, vainly attempting to be the half full glass kind of guy in anticipation of finding a solid gold gem of a story.

This is it.

Quite simply an entrancing and interesting story well written and told. For fans of the genre it is a must read. For non fans or naysayers, try it. I couldn't put the damned thing down. It really is that good. If I were Laurie Brown I'd not only be extremely pleased with myself for writing this tour de force, I'd also be knocking on the doors of Hollywood. Laurie Brown's use of language and characterisation through carefully chosen phrases or lines of dialogue is really that cinematic.

In summary, an excellent story extremely well told. The author is a face to look out for in the future, I feel. I await her next work with anticipation."

Need title for my action/thriller novel

Hi.

I have an action thriller novel that I am putting out soon, but I need a name change. It was previously called 'Blizzard' but I want to give it a new name since that isnt quite appropriate. Now, the premise is this:
An ex-con trying to redeem himself finds his past catching up when an old accomplice kidnaps his father, the sherrif, and treks to the canadian border while a blizzard rages.

Now, this actually isnt quite correct, since the blizzard isnt going all the time but other than that it is pretty much correct. I am digging this out to the suceess of film The Grey, and thus need a title to reflect the snow and so on.

Any ideas?

Are we 'real' authors?

Yesterday I explored this concept on my blog. However I thought I'd take the question direct to you guys to get your take on it.

There is a feeling in some parts of the industry that because we have sidestepped the 'gatekeepers' by self-publishing here and other places, we in fact aren't 'real' authors or writers.

Personally I disagree - however what do you feel about it? Do you consider yourself a real author and writer? Should there be a differentiation between those who are picked up by publishing houses and those who self-publish? Is it just publishers protecting their turf? Is there an elitism present? Do you think this sort of mindset will linger?

My blog post is here if you want to read it: http://www.rosemaryfryth.com/thought-of-the-day/
